South Luangwa is unique in that it allows night drives, usually not permitted in national parks. Go on one for the chance to encounter elusive nocturnal species such as serval, caracal and bush baby as well as the leopard that the valley is famed for. Night game drives provide a different perspective to their day-time equivalent. Your senses have to be on high alert as your guide manoeuvres the game vehicle into the night, surveying the bushveld with a spotlight in hand. Timing is everything.
